As a child, I didn’t dislike learning, I feared it. Books felt heavy. Exams felt overwhelming. The night before every test, anxiety would take over. I would sit for endless hours trying to memorise pages I didn’t truly understand, surviving on barely any sleep, hoping I hadstudied “enough” to pass. I wasn’t learning. I was coping. Like many children, I moved from grade to grade, progressing ahead without clarity. I studied to avoid failure, not to build understanding. Learning felt like pressure, not a journey. But every Saturday morning was different.

In my craft class, there were no pages to memorise. No fear of forgetting. I was invited to create. My mind felt calm. I understood what I was doing. I felt capable. That contrast stayed with me. As I grew older, I realised something important. Children are not anxious because they lack ability, they struggle when learning does not make sense to them – when it feels rushed, when it moves faster than their pace and when it isn’t explained in a way they can truly relate to.

Edumaame was born from that realisation. “Edu” for education. “Maame” inspired by warmth and nurturing because learning should feel guided, not pressured. Over five years, I built this curriculum piece by piece writing original stories, creating relatable characters, and designing interactive concepts that bring clarity instead of confusion. Every program is thoughtfully structured, yet carefully tailored to a child’s individual pace, strengths, and readiness. We slow down where needed. We simplify what feels complex. We make learning visual, conversational, and engaging so children don’t just memorise, they participate. They question. They understand. Many times during this journey, I found myself thinking, If I had been taught this way, I would have felt lighter. More confident. More capable. Learning didn’t have to feel overwhelming. And it doesn’t have to feel that way for your child. Edumaame exists to create learning that is structured yet flexible, personalised yet purposeful, where children move forward with clarity, confidence, and genuine understanding.
